If we can't trust our experiences, we can't trust anything. Otherwise third parties could manipulate our surroundings for promotional or propagandized purposes without our knowledge. While most people appreciate the need for #privacy, the right to "experiential authenticity" is of particular importance in immersive worlds. This article in VentureBeat is just a small step in this direction, suggesting a few basic #ImmersiveRights that should be guaranteed to everyone in virtual and augmented worlds. Or, #policymakers and #regulators could take action, ensuring the metaverse is a safe and trusted environment for everyone.
